The Irony of "Getting To Know". 

This term which i would jolly well call "Test water" had become a fad within my social circle. We all understand that getting into a relationship requires a good amount of the above; the opening of our hearts and the revelation of our true selves to a person who might potentially be our soulmate. But while doing so, have we not neglect the fact that the possibility of an unhappy ending do exist? It is human nature to be protective over ourselves, to prevent ourselves from getting hurt unnecessarily. Thus, my constant disbelief in this thing call "Getting To Know". Call me selfish, but I don't want to be the one hanging with doubts and the one who will be left with nothing out of the "Getting To Know" process. Cos I'd rather not have known that person at all in that case. Such an irritating irony.

The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart.
